Congratulations to the Boston Bruins

A belated Congrats to the Boston Bruins for knocking off the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday, as we all watched with great joy to see our ol’ friend Luongo and the rest of his boys fail when they needed to pull through the most. And while we’re still disappointed that the Hawks couldn’t do what the Bruins did this year, it’s still better than the alternative.

Christian’s First Cup

Although Christian’s previous date with the Cup was back before he was born, he was wide awake to see his first Cup celebration on TV. Here he is with his own presentation ceremony.

Christian with the Cup

Boy, the Cup looks a lot bigger on TV, doesn’t it? :P

And in true baby form, Christian has to imitate what he sees on TV. So as the Bruins celebrate by drinking out of the Cup, he decides he wants to take a sip as well.

Baby See, Baby Do

We know Christian won’t remember much about seeing his first Stanley Cup Final Game 7, but we’re pretty sure he’s going to be pretending he’s out there scoring the game winning goal like all young hockey players do while they’re growing up.

Playoff Results – Day 25

The rapid progression of Round 2 in the NHL Playoffs has left all remaining games to be must wins for somebody, and Friday was no exception. With the East wrapped up and the West near the end, where did stand after 60 minutes of play?

Day 25 Results

  • Kris/Christian: 0-1
  • Cindy: 0-1

Round 2 Results

  • Kris/Christian: 4-13
  • Cindy: 10-7

The only game on Friday was Vancouver and Nashville, and with the three of us originally thinking Vancouver would come out on top, we were still pleasantly surprised that Nashville was able to push the Canucks to a 1-4 record in elimination games this postseason. The feeling is still that the Predators don’t have enough talent to take this to another game in B.C., but wouldn’t it be nice if the President’s trophy winner had to play back-to-back Game 7′s in the first two rounds?

Playoff Results – Day 24

Day 24 starts the weekend with two elimination games in Round 2. Who will live on to to see Game 5?

Day 24 Results

  • Kris/Christian: 1-1
  • Cindy: 1-1

Round 2 Results

  • Kris/Christian: 4-12
  • Cindy: 10-6

Everyone scores a point on Friday, with Papa and Christian cheering on Detroit over San Jose and Mama happy to see Philly cleaning out the lockers on Monday at the hands of Boston. That means the East is finished first, and Tampa will be heading to Boston for the start of Round 3. The West is still at least a game away, with both series battles tallied at 3-1. Saturday and Sunday be the next chapter in those tales.

Playoff Results – Day 23

The only series not 3-0 was the single game Thursday night, with Nashville depending home ice against Vancouver. With the three of us picking Vancouver, we were all in.

Day 23 Results

  • Kris/Christian: 1-0
  • Cindy: 1-0

Round 2 Results

  • Kris/Christian: 3-11
  • Cindy: 9-5

With everyone picking Vancouver in Round 2, we all scored a win on Thursday but no one gained any ground on Mama. The Canucks put the Preds on the chopping block, now down 3-1 in the series, so now all the remaining matches are just one game away from Round 3. However, we all know the problems Vancouver had finishing off the Hawks, but we all agree Nashville isn’t playing the caliber of hockey the our guys did in Games 4-6 in Round 1.

Playoff Results – Day 22

Three of the four Round 2 series were in play on Wednesday night, and all three winning teams remained undefeated this round. The Conference Finals might be here before we know it.

Day 22 Results

  • Kris/Christian: 0-3
  • Cindy: 2-1

Round 2 Results

  • Kris/Christian: 2-11
  • Cindy: 8-5

Mama’s dominance in Round 2 continues as her Sharks and Bruins came up with big wins in Game 3, while we all fell out in the East as Washington was swept by the Bolts in a series that seemed as fast as lightning.

Vancouver and Nashville are the lone game on Thursday in the only series so far that’s guaranteed to go at least 5 games.
