Kris and Cindy

General Section

The General Section here has mostly the general information about us such as photos and updates that don't fit into some of the other sections here. While the larger moments in our lives are without a doubt very special and memorable, those little things that happen in between can be just as special, so we post them here, too.

As the months and years go by, this is the place to check in every now and then to see what's new in our lives and what has changed in our world.

Background Photo: The Park

The Park

The photo we chose for the backdrop of our General Section has a good amount of signifigance to us. This is a picture of a secluded, unnamed park in Rosemont. Over the years, this is the spot we spent some nice summer days enjoying the sun, the spot where we shared our first kiss, where I propsed to Cindy, and where we visited after our wedding day.

We still go there every once and a while when we get a little nostalgic, so it was a given that we display it here for everyone.

Wedding Section

The Wedding Section is, of course, about our wedding. We tried to capture every moment of the big event in this section, from everyone involved to the ceremony and each part of the reception.

The highlights of the section include the Reception page and pictures of the ceremony on the Photos page.

Background Photo: Wedding Kiss

Wedding Kiss

This photo was a little harder to chose, but it's not any less special. The reason it was so difficult to find the perfect picture for this backdrop of the Wedding Section was because there were so many amazing shots to choose from.

As you would expect during a wedding and reception, everyone hovers around the bride and groom on their big day. When this photo was taken with the wedding photographer, we were able to break away from all the festivities and commotion of the big day to one of the less visible areas of the courtyard to take a few moments to reflect on what just happened with us vowing our love for each other. If you look close enough, you can see that feeling in those photos.

The picture we used for this background was actually cropped to fit the site's layout, so the photo below is the full photo.

Honeymoon Section

Our Honeymoon Section at this site portrays our first trip to the islands of Hawaii, and our first major vacation as a couple that didn't involve driving to a neighboring state for the weekend. All of our friends and family know, but if you're outside that circle and you're good with details, you'll notice that there's about an eight month gap between the date of our wedding and the arrival date in Oahu.

To account for that gap, it's helpful to understand that we paid for the wedding and reception ourselves (with a little loan from mom). Without getting into numbers and details, the budget didn't include the honeymoon that we wanted to begin the very next day, so rather than compromising on a lesser honeymoon, we opted to save and wait for our first Hawaii trip.

It was worth it.

Background Photo: The Beach

The Beach

Over the dozens of years that people have been flocking to Waikiki Beach year after year, I'm certain that it's been photographed quite a few times. The interesting thing about this photo is that I don't really remember taking it. Obviously it was in taken with our camera, and there was a photo taken before it and a photo after it stored on the memory card, but it just seemed out of order from the other photos.

In any case, it's still one of our favorite snapshots from our trip, and it's even been the background image on my cell phone for over a year by now.

Maui '06 Section

Our Maui '06 trip was absolutely perfect, and you can see it for yourself in the Maui '06 Section. When you return back from your first trip to Hawaii as we did from our honeymoon in June '04, this first thing you ask each other is when are we going back. Okay, that discussion really starts on the flight home, but you get the point.

Anyway, this trip was that return voyage, and we were ready for it all now that we had experienced the true meaning of Aloha. We had planned everything in advanced (although we did add a few activities later), it was all paid for when we got there, and we had been able to save quite a good amount of money to spend while we were there. As a result, it was truly a vacation from all of our cares and worries, which is what made it so enjoyable.

We think you'll agree that as you look through the pages and pictures from this section, it definitely shows, and the memories of feeling so carefree and relaxed will last quite a long time in our minds and in our hearts.

Background Photo: View of Lanai

View of Lanai

What can you really say about Maui that can't be expressed in some great photos, or even your own memories of being there yourself and seeing it with your own eyes. This photo itself was taken from the lanai of our room at the Sheraton and reminds us of the fantastic view that we had of both Lanai and Molokai.

But the picture also has much more meaning than that. Maui is a beautiful island for more reasons than anyone can count, which is why it's our hands-down favorite to this day. Yet anyone that's had the joy of starting off your long awaited and well deserved vacation with a nine hour direct flight, 45 minutes waiting for your bags and almost another hour until you're in your rental care can relate to, your first goal is just to get to the comfy bed awaiting you in your hotel room.

So even though the drive from the airport to our hotel was a good half-hour, and the sights along the way providing our first view of this island paradise were ready to be admired, it just hadn't sunk in yet. The point where it really hit us was when we flung open that hotel room door and Cindy made a dash right to the balcony at the other side. As you can imagine, her jaw absolutely dropped from our first taste of views like this photo captures, and from that point on we were in heaven.

Now you know why we chose it over all the other 1,500 photos we took in Maui.

Bahamas '07 Section

The Bahamas '07 Section highlights our little weekend getaway that was provided by the company that Kris works for in honor of 5 years of service. We had the pleasure of having an expenses-paid, 4 day, 3 night cruise to the Bahamas while leaving a nasty and wintry February weekend back home.

Although it was a short trip, we cherised the warm weather in the middle of winter, and as being our first cruise, we'd definitely be open to trying a longer cruise in the future.

It's hard to picture how big the cruise ship was until we docked in the Bahamas and took photos from the shore. This photo was taken Saturday morning as we ventured out to the shops in Nassau.

Other than the stunning views of the ocean and the ports from the different decks and observation areas, all the accommodations on the boat made it feel like you were in a nice hotel in Vegas.
